This guacamole recipe is sure to spice up your meal! It's made using fresh avocados, diced tomatoes, and a few spices to give it a bit of kick. The hotness level for this guacamole is determined by the amount of chili powder, cumin, and cayenne pepper used. Our recipe gives you a medium spiciness, so feel free to increase or decrease the amount of these ingredients if you want your guacamole to be milder or spicier. Also, for the brave-of-heart who love spice, try adding in some freshly diced jalapeno peppers to increase the spiciness (or a habanero pepper if you want it REALLY hot).

Fresh, homemade guacamole with a good, spicy kick to it!
Ingredients
  • 3 avocados
  • 1 lime
  • 1 yellow onion, minced
  • 1 tomato, diced
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/2 cup fresh cilantro
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • Kosher salt
  • Freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
  1. Add the chili powder, cumin, cayenne pepper and 1/2 teaspoon of salt in a small bowl and mix well
  2. Carefully slice the avocados in half
  3. Peel and pit the avocados
  4. Add avocados to a medium bowl and mash with a fork until chunky-smooth
  5. Add spice mix, minced onion, minced garlic, diced tomato, chopped cilantro and lime juice to the bowl and mix
  6. Salt and pepper to taste
  7. Refrigerate for at least 30 min
  8. Enjoy!
Notes

When refrigerating, cover with saran wrap touching the guacamole to avoid oxidation. Squeeze some lemon juice on the guacamole if storing overnight.
